Education
Education is increasingly attracting more attention all over the world as the bedrock of human capital development and knowledge economy and taking care of the child’s development right from birth is now recognized as the best option as a starter. Thus, the nature and intensity of care, nutrition and stimulation a child receives during this period determines to a large extent the level of physical, cognitive and psychosocial development.
The learning process starts from the parents at home and then moves to the teachers in the school. Over the years, we’ve developed a range of education projects to lift the quality of the education in schools and ensure a sustainable future for the whole community. These projects include:
Our School Community
to build relationships with the community and ensure the long-term sustainability of the projects.
School Improvement
to ensure students are in a safe and vibrant environment where they are kept healthy to optimize their learning.
Teacher Development
to improve teaching standards and support teachers in their ongoing pedagogical capability enhancement.
My Voice
to build confidence and empower students to speak up and take ownership of their education and to understand their rights.
Keeping Girls in School
to engage the whole community of the importance of girls education, including their human rights, health and wellbeing and their contribution to society
Our Holistic Approach
Over the years, Education Africa has aligned itself with “striving to assist in re-establishing a culture of learning and teaching”, and more recently our guiding principles have been “Making real change Happen” by implementing “Poverty alleviation through Education”. The organization’s focus though remains the same – to make a meaningful contribution to the educational growth and development of previously disadvantaged communities. Education Africa’s motto is: Educate ∙ Equip ∙ Empower.
The organization’s focus is to break the cycle of poverty through educational interventions and providing educational opportunities for various age groups among South Africa’s disadvantaged citizens.
